Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

Notice to Therapy Clients in Vermont and Massachusetts

Under the No Surprises Act (federal law effective January 1, 2022), you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before beginning services — and at any time upon request.

This requirement applies to licensed clinical therapy services (IFS/EMDR) only. Astrology readings and Family Constellations are alternative healing services and are not subject to the No Surprises Act.

Following your initial evaluation, I will provide a written estimate of anticipated session frequency and approximate cost of treatment. This is not a contract; it is a tool to support your informed decision-making.

A Good Faith Estimate is valid for 12 months from the date of issuance.

Private Pay Practice with Option of Out-of-Network Insurance Use

Intentional, Confidential, Client-Centered Care

I am a private pay provider. I do not work with insurance companies.

This is an intentional choice — not a limitation. Working outside of insurance allows me to offer personalized, depth-oriented care without clinical restrictions, and keeps your information fully confidential without third-party access or limitations on the frequency, length, or focus of our sessions.

In this space, we honor your healing as a whole and sovereign process — not a diagnosis or a set of billing codes.

And, I understand that cost is a real consideration. If you have out-of-network benefits through your insurance plan and would like to utilize them, I can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) for you to submit to your insurance, or — with your permission — I can submit out-of-network claims on your behalf. Please note that in some cases, insurance may issue reimbursement directly to the provider rather than to you; if this occurs, we will transition to superbills so that you can submit claims directly going forward.

A few important things to know:

  • Submitting claims to insurance requires personal information, including a mental health diagnosis.
  • Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan, coverage, and session length.
  • My full session rate applies regardless of whether a session runs 40 or 53 minutes; insurance companies may reimburse at different rates depending on how they code session length.
  • Clients are responsible for co-payments, any outstanding fees, and understanding their own benefit coverage.

Please also note that Astrology readings and Family Constellations sessions are not covered by insurance and cannot be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement. These services are privately paid for, regardless of your insurance plan or benefits.

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards, as well as cash or check.

There are no sliding scale spots available at this time. I encourage you to check back, or to reach out — I am happy to have a conversation about what is possible.

When spots are available, they are offered on a good-faith, self-reported basis. There is no formal income verification required. I simply ask that you share a little about your situation so we can find an arrangement that works for both of us. This conversation is held with the same care and confidentiality as everything else we discuss.

Please note: Sliding scale sessions are not eligible for out-of-network insurance reimbursement. Insurance submission requires that the full session rate be billed. If you are interested in utilizing out-of-network benefits, sessions must be held at the full rate.

CANCELLATION & SCHEDULING POLICY

Cancellation & Scheduling Policy

Respecting Our Time Together

I require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule any appointment, including free 15-minute consultations. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee, except in genuine emergencies. Late arrivals end at the scheduled time.

For scheduled sessions, if you have not arrived within 10 minutes of your scheduled appointment and I am unable to reach you after an outreach attempt, the session will be treated as a cancellation without 24 hours notice.

Please note that insurance does not cover or reimburse late cancellations or missed session fees. For the same reason, HSA/FSA funds cannot be used for payment in the event of a late cancellation or missed appointment, as these charges are not eligible under HSA/FSA guidelines. If a late cancellation or no-show fee applies, an alternative payment method must be arranged.

Your Information is Protected

Everything you share in therapy is confidential. I am bound by HIPAA and applicable Vermont and Massachusetts law, and will not disclose your information without your written consent, except as legally required:

  • Imminent danger to self or others: I am required to take protective action, which may include contacting emergency services.
  • Child or elder abuse: As a mandated reporter, I am required to report reasonable cause of abuse or neglect.
  • Court order: I am required to comply with a valid court order.

Astrology readings and Family Constellations sessions are not covered by HIPAA, but I hold all information shared in these contexts with the same care and discretion.

FAMILY CONSTELLATIONS GROUP SESSIONS

Family Constellations Group Sessions

Community Circles, Workshops & Group Offerings

Family Constellations group sessions are offered periodically throughout the year as workshops and community circles. The following policies apply to all group offerings.

Cost-Sharing Model

Group sessions operate on a cost-sharing model. Pricing is listed on the event flyer for each offering. Payment is due prior to the event in order to secure your spot.

What to Expect

Each group session typically includes one or two individual constellations. Attendance and payment do not guarantee that your personal constellation will be selected for facilitation. Participants frequently report meaningful insights and personal benefit from attending and participating, even when their own constellation is not among those facilitated in the session.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please provide at least 48 hours notice of cancellation (email preferred). Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of the event.

Insurance & Payment

Family Constellations sessions are not covered by insurance and cannot be submitted for out-of-network reimbursement. These sessions are privately paid. Payment is due prior to the event.

Video Sessions

I offer video sessions for therapy clients physically located in Vermont or Massachusetts at the time of the session.

Astrology readings and Family Constellations sessions may be offered via video regardless of location.

Video sessions are conducted via a HIPAA-compliant platform. You will need a private, quiet space and a stable internet connection. Prior to beginning telehealth services, I will ask for your current address and a local emergency contact.
